Carpenterbees hover like a helicopter and will dart at any person including birds and animals. They protect their nest site which is located in the eve facer boards of a house. The gutter is attatched to this wood and usually on the sunny sides of the house. The sun warms the eggs that have been secured in the tunnels by wax. They can destroy the entire length of wood in three years.

Mud daubers spend their time building mud tube nests and hunting for spiders, they are quite docile and are not likely to sting, they are a social species who do sting spiders only. They are metallic blue black in the sun, They are skiddish and flutter as they land and fly. The small tubular mud nest is attached to a wall on chimneys or under porch overhangs. They will drop in on a ool party for a drink. We cant stop them!

Cicada Killer Wasp Hornet Picture Sand Bees live in the sandy soil where the grass is new or very sparce. They make a hole to lay an egg, the sand is kicked to the surface creating a small mound with a hole in the center. This mound looks similar to an ant mound in the yard. The bees hover all over the surface on sunny days. They can sting, but rarely do.
